Gemini users can turn off the visible watermark on generated images, videos, and songs, Josh Woodward, vice president of Google Labs, Gemini, and AI Studio, announced on August 14, 2026, with the rollout spread over the following days. The setting isn't available in countries where visible marking is legally required.
The Verge describes the mark as a "sparkle" in the bottom-right corner of content made with Nano Banana and Omni models, and says the option also reaches Flow, Google's AI video generator. Invisible SynthID watermarks stay woven into the output, and per The Verge C2PA metadata stays in the background too.
