US government sides with OpenAI in NYT lawsuit

Reuters reports that the U.S. government has backed OpenAI in the copyright case brought by the New York Times, putting Washington behind an AI lab in court against a newspaper. Reuters published the story on September 2 and doesn’t spell out what the government filed. OpenAI’s copyright docket also includes the German suit from publisher Carlsen over the children’s book “NEINhorn”, filed on August 19.
