Claude got into Google, but only through Antigravity

Googlers have been pushed to build with Gemini and kept away from outside tools like Claude Code and OpenAI’s Codex. Business Insider reports, citing two employees and a spokesperson’s confirmation, that engineers across the company can use Anthropic’s Opus 5 for internal work.

Claude works only inside Antigravity, Google’s internal version of its development platform, and arrives with per-user quotas. The spokesperson called it supplementary to Gemini, which stays “our primary and foundational model for internal development.”

Google DeepMind teams have had Claude for some time, according to three people with knowledge of the matter. Google is also an Anthropic backer and announced plans earlier this year to invest up to $40 billion.
