Conductor joins Meta and shuts Conductor Cloud on Nov 20

Conductor, a platform for running coding agents locally and in the cloud, is joining Meta, and its hosted version, Conductor Cloud, shuts down within weeks, according to Conductor’s November 4 announcement. Anything in Conductor Cloud has to be exported or moved to local before November 20, when Conductor begins deleting cloud user data.
Conductor has built a tool that transfers Cloud workspaces to local, and the team says it is on hand to help with the move. Cloud workspaces go read-only first, on Friday, November 13. From then on, old chats can still be read and data exported, but new messages can’t be sent. Active subscribers get a refund.
The rest of the product changed on announcement day. New users can’t sign up or download the app, existing free users can’t upgrade to a pro plan, and pro users keep pro features for free. Local Conductor keeps working as normal until the team’s next product arrives, and it will continue to receive new models and critical bug fixes until early 2027.
Local workspaces are set up differently from cloud ones. Each one is its own git worktree and branch, created from the repository’s base branch after a fetch from origin, and it starts with tracked Git files only. Other local files come in through setup scripts or the Files to copy setting, which Conductor’s docs say currently runs for local Mac workspaces. For cloud workspaces, the docs put those steps in scripts.setup.
Conductor launched in July 2025. Melty Labs, the San Francisco company behind it and part of Y Combinator’s Summer 2024 batch, announced a $22 million Series A from Spark and Matrix in March 2026, just eight months before this deal.
The team says it has “big, crazy plans for the next interface” and expects to have something new for users to try early next year.
