Cursor reportedly gets Computer Use for other laptop apps
Cursor can now operate other applications on your laptop, the SPACEXSI account said in an October 23 post on Threads. The pitch is aimed at app developers, since the agent can also run mobile simulators.
You don’t have to leave the feature on. Computer Use starts on demand, or you call it into a prompt by @-mentioning the “Computer Use” command.
Cursor now belongs to SpaceX after a $60 billion deal. It closes an acquisition process that began in April, when the partnership with SpaceXAI was announced. The editor is also sold bundled with X Premium and Grok in the X Subscription, with plans from $8 to $200 a month. SpaceXAI and Cursor also already ship Grok Bot, a computer-use agent that gets its own cloud computers and carries out tasks across web applications.
The new feature works the other way round. Grok Bot runs tasks on cloud machines, while Computer Use in Cursor drives the apps installed on the developer’s own laptop, mobile simulators included.
