Developers can pull an existing GitHub repository straight into Google AI Studio Build and carry on working there, instead of rebuilding the project by hand. Google describes it as a one-click import, and repo and app stay in sync both ways afterwards.
Product lead Logan Kilpatrick highlighted the feature when it went out on July 8, 2026. Reports on July 20 and August 19 describe both the import and the bi-directional sync as live.
