Three rival chatbots broke for many users on Thursday morning, leaving no obvious fallback for anyone whose workflow runs through one of them. OpenAI's status page acknowledged issues across ChatGPT and Codex, Anthropic's status page reported elevated errors on Claude, and Grok's website said it was having problems too.
All three companies said they were investigating. MacRumors, which reported the outages at 8:56 am PDT on September 3, later updated its post to say the chatbots were coming back online.
