Cat Wu, Claude Code’s head of product, leaves Anthropic

Business Insider reports that Cat Wu, who led product for Claude Code alongside its creator Boris Cherny, left Anthropic on Friday. The company confirmed her departure. Wu had also overseen Cowork, Anthropic’s tool for non-coding work.
Wu announced the move on X on Tuesday, thanked the team and users, and didn’t say what prompted it. She leaves as Anthropic heads toward an IPO planned for later this month, and a month after Thariq Shihipar, who also worked on Claude Code, announced his own exit. Wu didn’t immediately respond to requests for comment.
