Claude Code won’t rebuild existing games, even renamed

Two sentences added to Claude Code’s prompt on Opus 5.5 steer it away from recreating someone else’s specific game, Anthropic confirmed after chasm spotted the rule. Original games, genre games and games built from your own designs and assets are meant to keep working, but chasm says there’s no setting to turn the rule off.
The rule arrived around Oct 27 under the flag “tengu_heron_brook” and covers recreations “even if it is renamed or called original.” Addy Osmani of Anthropic’s technical staff tied it to the usage policy ban on IP infringement and said the team will “continue to iterate.” If Claude turns down a project that’s yours, he asked users to send it his way.
