Principal investigators at academic and nonprofit research institutions can now put their whole group on Claude at no cost, under a Claude Team plan for scientists that opens today with 10,000 seats. Premium seats with 5x usage limits run $15 per month for one year.
Anthropic says it plans to extend the program well beyond the initial 10,000 seats over the coming months. Claude Science launched in June, and the AI for Science program funds high-impact projects with free credits. A principal investigator signs up first, then adds the researchers in their group.
