Claude Code 2.1.299 compacts idle chats before cache expiry

Leave a 200K+ token conversation idle for about 54 minutes and the terminal compacts it before its one-hour prompt cache expires, so your next message doesn't reprocess it all. Here's what else is in the release:
• CLAUDE_CODE_IDLE_COMPACT_MIN_TOKENS changes idle compaction's 200K-token minimum, and "idleCompaction": false in settings.json turns it off. • CLAUDE_CODE_DISABLE_FILE_MENTIONS hands Claude the paths of @ mentioned files to read with its file tools instead of their contents. • A sandboxed shell command could write into a --plugin-dir folder whose code Claude Code reloads and runs outside the sandbox, and that hole is closed.
Both idle compaction settings need v2.1.290 or later.
