Claude mobile apps add multi-account sign-in and CarPlay

Anthropic has added 24 languages to the Claude apps on web, desktop, iOS and Android, for 33 in all. The iOS and Android apps can now also stay signed into more than one account, so a separate work and personal login no longer means signing out every time you switch. Both are part of this week’s mobile update, listed in Claude’s October 29 post. Pull down to search on iPhone and iPad is the one item there still marked “coming soon.”

Account switching is the feature Testing Catalog reported in August that Anthropic was building for the mobile apps. It has now shipped on both mobile platforms. You stay signed into each account and move between them from inside the app.

When search arrives on iPhone and iPad, a pull-down gesture will find a past chat or project, jump to any setting, or act on a chat straight from the results. No date has been given.

Voice mode on iOS and Android now answers sooner and hears you better in a noisy room or when you speak quietly. Speech in languages other than English sounds more natural, and voice runs on more Android phones. On iPhone, voice mode also works with Apple CarPlay, which Anthropic pitches as a way to ask Claude something while driving without taking your hands off the wheel.

The new interface languages include Bengali, Danish, Swahili, Thai, Turkish, Ukrainian and Vietnamese.

Bigger screens get layout changes. On iPad and iPhone Duo, whatever Claude makes now opens beside the chat instead of on top of it, and you can expand it to full screen for a closer look. On Chromebooks, Googlebooks and foldables, the Android app now behaves like a laptop app: it has a resizable sidebar, supports the trackpad and right-click, and uses the same keyboard shortcuts as Claude Desktop.
