Claude's voice mode moves to Opus and Sonnet

Anthropic upgraded Claude's voice mode to its stronger models, including Claude Opus and Sonnet. Mid-conversation, Claude can now reach connected tools like email and calendar, and voice mode picks up new languages on every plan, among them Spanish, French, Hindi, and Japanese.

The update rolls out today in open beta on mobile, desktop, and web. Claude Code gets its own additions: per The New Stack, developers can dictate prompts, terminal commands, and code edits, either leaving voice on or using push-to-talk.

The New Stack notes OpenAI shipped its own voice update the same Thursday, betting on app control through GPT-Live on macOS and Windows, while Anthropic wires voice deeper into Claude and Claude Code.
