Anthropic extends Claude Fable 5 promo access to July 12
Anthropic moved the end date for Fable 5 promo access on all paid plans from July 7 to July 12, 2026. The official @claudeai account confirmed the change on July 7. Fable 5 remains the company's most capable public model, exceeding the performance of Opus.
The terms remain unchanged: paid subscribers can use up to 50% of their weekly limit on Fable 5. Once that threshold is reached, the model is available via pay-as-you-go credits or by switching to Opus 4.8.
This is the latest shift in a volatile rollout. Fable 5 launched on June 9, was suspended on June 12 due to US export controls, had restrictions lifted on June 30, and returned on July 1. After the promo ends, Fable 5 will be available exclusively via API pricing: $10 per million input tokens and $50 per million output tokens.
