Claude Code 2.1.203 fixes hung background sessions
This release goes after freezes and lost background agents. The main fixes:
• Background sessions no longer hang forever: when a daemon session token goes stale, recovery now happens automatically • Returning to claude agents no longer drops running subagents or restarts the prompt from scratch • Opening background sessions on macOS no longer stalls for 15-20 seconds on a false low-memory detection (a regression in 2.1.196) • Background agents now take PATH from the calling shell instead of a stale one from the daemon, which left some tools unfound on Windows
The binary is about 7 MB smaller, and startup memory drops by roughly 7 MB too, thanks to lazy-loading a large dependency.
