Claude Fable 5: access and capabilities
Anthropic has made Claude Fable 5 available to all paid tiers. The model leads in Cognition's FrontierCode and Hebbia's Finance Benchmark. In a Stripe test case, Fable 5 migrated a 50M-line Ruby codebase in one day, previously a two-month team effort.
Fable 5 has enhanced safety mechanisms. If a query relates to cybersecurity, biology, chemistry, or attempts to extract the model's architecture, the system automatically redirects it to Claude Opus 4.8.
The API pricing is $10 per million input tokens and $50 per million output tokens. Until June 22, the model is included in subscriptions; access will shift to a credit system afterward.
