Claude hit with elevated error rates across several models again
At 18:36 UTC on July 16, 2026, Anthropic reported elevated error rates on requests to several models and opened an investigation. Per its status page, the incident hit claude.ai, the Claude API, Claude Code, and Claude Cowork.
It's the latest in a run of infrastructure trouble: widespread errors across multiple models showed up on June 16, again from June 13 to 20, and on July 9. Anthropic says it will post updates as the investigation progresses.
