Claude Opus 5 is the new default Opus model in Claude Code v2.1.219
The latest Claude Code update ships a new model plus a batch of changes. The highlights:
• Claude Opus 5 (claude-opus-5) lands with a 1M context window and is now the default Opus; fast mode runs $10/$50 per Mtok • Opus 4.7 is out of fast mode; /fast now works with Opus 5 and Opus 4.8 • Subagents nest to depth 3 by default instead of 1, with CLAUDE_CODE_MAX_SUBAGENT_SPAWN_DEPTH=1 to turn it off • The sandbox.network.strictAllowlist setting blocks off-list hosts without prompting
Dynamic workflows now default to medium size, targeting fewer than 15 agents.
