Claude's web app hides a Voice tab marked Preview

A hidden "Voice" item sits in Claude's web navigation with a "Preview" label, Testing Catalog reports. The label points to Anthropic's internal preview environment, so nothing is public yet. The outlet found no details on how it would differ from today's voice mode, and no hint of timing.
The tab follows a new opt-in setting in Claude's mobile apps that shares voice recordings for training. It's separate from text consent and off by default, and Testing Catalog reads it as a possible sign of in-house speech models.
Anthropic has held talks with ElevenLabs, but the provider behind current voice mode hasn't been confirmed. Its API offers no text-to-speech model and no native end-to-end real-time audio model.
