Salesforce and Anthropic have expanded their partnership under the name Claudeforce, opening with a Salesforce in Claude plugin that carries 37 prebuilt sales skills for reasoning over live revenue data and taking action inside the CRM. The announcement was made on August 26 in San Francisco, Salesforce said.

At a glance

  • The skills, among them meeting prep, deal health review and pipeline review, were built jointly by both companies and route every action through Salesforce so business rules are enforced at execution.
  • Claude becomes the default model for Slack, Slackbot and Slack AI, and runs inside the Salesforce Trust Boundary through Amazon Bedrock as the first LLM provider fully integrated there.
  • Salesforce reports Slackbot driving 8.1 million hours of annualized productivity gains internally, up more than twofold quarter over quarter, and will give Claude Code and Claude Enterprise to all its developers and knowledge workers.

The arrangement reads as a swap of distribution for grounding: Anthropic gets Claude in front of sellers inside the systems where commercial records already live, while Salesforce gets a reasoning layer it does not have to train. It also shifts where enterprise work is initiated, since a plugin that generates its own interface makes the CRM front end optional for a large class of tasks. Governance, not intelligence, is the part being sold here.

The plugin ships with 37 skills and needs one admin connection per team

The Salesforce in Claude plugin covers the revenue cycle with 37 prebuilt skills, including meeting prep, deal health review and pipeline review. Salesforce says the skills were engineered by both companies to use Claude's reasoning, agentic tool use and generative UI rather than wrapping generic CRM prompts around an API.

Onboarding reads a seller's context from Salesforce, Slack and any connector available in Claude, then stands up a dashboard of accounts, pipeline and live data in interactive views Claude generates. An admin connects the plugin once, with authentication and permissions handled centrally, and every seller on the team gets access with no per-user setup and no new permissions model.

Claude runs inside Agentforce and reaches the Salesforce Trust Boundary through Amazon Bedrock

On the Salesforce side, Claude is available in Agentforce as a reasoning model for the Atlas Reasoning Engine, powers Agentforce Vibes and Agentforce Coworker by default, and is available in Agent Builder. Through Amazon Bedrock it runs within the Salesforce Trust Boundary, which the company says lets customers in regulated industries deploy domain-specific AI while keeping data and AI workloads secure.

The underlying plumbing is AIforce, described as Salesforce's enterprise harness that exposes business data and workflows to any agent through MCP servers, APIs and CLI tools. Benioff said Claudeforce runs on top of Salesforce via AIforce, Headless 360, Data 360, Tableau and Slack. Anthropic chief executive Dario Amodei framed the deal around existing customer records:

Through this partnership, companies can point Claude at the customer information and business context that they've been building in Salesforce for decades, and use it to actually run and grow their businesses.

Claude becomes Slack's default model and Salesforce's preferred AI assistant

Claude is the default model for Slack and sits across the Slack experience: powering Slackbot by default, augmenting team decisions through Claude Tag, and joining Slack Code as a founding partner. Salesforce says Slackbot has driven 8.1 million hours of annualized productivity gains internally, up more than 2x quarter over quarter.

The two companies are also each other's customers. Salesforce is Anthropic's preferred CRM, with Slack its preferred multiplayer work platform for internal teams and Salesforce Shield, Backup and Sandboxes covering security, resilience and development. Salesforce will make Claude Code and Claude Enterprise available to all its developers and knowledge workers as its preferred AI assistant and productivity tools.

September beta and late-2026 skills

Salesforce in Claude is with select pilot customers now, and open beta is expected in September 2026. Additional prebuilt skills begin launching in late 2026, and the companies say more integrations across Claude, Salesforce and Slack are planned without naming them. No pricing was given for the plugin, and Salesforce notes that packaging is subject to change and availability varies by region.
