Morning Brief turns up in Claude's Cowork mode

Claude News

Morning Brief, a digest that runs on Claude's scheduled tasks, is appearing for some users rather than all of them, according to a post on Threads. Crypto Briefing and AI Startups News have reported the same rollout, and the post asked whether other users had received the feature.

At a glance

  • Setting the feature up is a guided process: Claude asks what the brief should cover and which Connectors it should pull from before the first scheduled run.
  • Morning Brief sits inside Cowork, Claude's scheduled-task mode, which runs routine jobs against sources including email, calendars, Slack, Notion and assorted dashboards instead of waiting for a prompt.
  • Cowork, the mode Morning Brief runs inside, launched first on the Max plan, Anthropic's higher-tier subscription, the tier where scheduled jobs in the Claude app appeared earliest.

A scheduled digest reads as a small feature and a fairly large change in how the assistant gets used: the model runs on a clock and against connected accounts rather than waiting for a prompt. That shifts the burden onto Connector coverage, since the quality of the brief depends on which accounts are linked and what they expose. Partial visibility suggests the flow is still being tuned before a general release.

What users are seeing is a brief generated on a schedule rather than on request. Before the first run, Claude walks through preferences for the digest and asks which Connectors should supply it, which is the step that sets where the contents come from and which accounts get read.

Cowork is the part of the Claude app that handles this. It runs routine tasks on a schedule and pulls information from platforms including email, calendars, Slack, Notion and various dashboards, the same plumbing Morning Brief draws on to assemble its output.

Cowork launched first on the Max plan, Anthropic's higher-tier subscription, which is where the scheduled-task machinery landed before anywhere else. Morning Brief arrives on that same footing, inside the same mode, and the reports so far describe it reaching some accounts and not others.

Availability beyond Max Anthropic has not published a timetable for extending Morning Brief beyond the users already seeing it, and no plan-level breakdown has been given for the digest itself. What is documented is the mode around it: scheduled tasks, Connector-fed data and a first release on Max. Whether the brief becomes a standard part of the Claude app or stays a Cowork option has not been stated.
