Claude Marketplace opens its shelf to outside builders

Claude News

You can now find a Slack connector, a CrowdStrike agent and Deloitte as a consulting partner in the same storefront. Claude's announcement on X presents Claude Marketplace as the place to find tools, agents and expert partners, and sorts it into three layers: connectors and plugins, agents and products, and service partners.

At a glance

  • Anyone building for Claude is invited to list tools, agents or services, with the builder link pointing to a Claude blog post, while buyers browse the catalog at claude.com/marketplace.
  • The marketplace puts plugins, connectors, agents and service partners in one place, so a Notion connector and Accenture as a service partner sit behind the same storefront inside the Claude ecosystem.
  • The announcement does not say how listings are vetted, whether sellers pay any fees, or what buyers pay for the agents and services on the shelf.

If you haven't been following, the marketplace itself is not new. According to Kucoin, it first opened on March 6, 2026 with six initial partners, including GitLab and Snowflake. Kucoin says a September expansion then added CrowdStrike, Cursor, Factory, Gamma and Vercel, which brought the count to eleven. AI Catchup reports that Claude's account named those five additions in an announcement on September 9, 2026.

Cursor and CrowdStrike sell agents, Accenture and Deloitte sell services

The announcement splits the shelf by what you are getting. Connectors and plugins such as Slack and Notion plug Claude into apps a team already uses. Agents and products come from companies such as Cursor and CrowdStrike. Service partners such as Accenture and Deloitte are there for organizations that want outside help to scale.

According to Kucoin, CrowdStrike announced on September 2, 2026 that its Falcon platform would be available through the marketplace, complete with Charlotte AI AgentWorks. Kucoin says this lets enterprise users manage security workflows conversationally within Claude.

AI Catchup reports that the partner detail pages put Cursor, CrowdStrike, Factory and Vercel in a Code category and Gamma in Data. Each listing has its own description. CrowdStrike's reads "Charlotte AI for autonomous intelligence and security outcomes", and Gamma's reads "Create presentations, documents, and websites from ideas or existing content".

Builders are invited to list, with a link to a Claude blog post

The announcement also speaks to the other side of the counter. If you build for Claude, you are invited to list your tools, agents or services on the marketplace, and the link for doing so leads to a Claude blog post. Buyers browse the whole catalog at claude.com/marketplace.

For connectors, Claude's documentation already describes a submission path: organizations can submit MCP servers to the Connectors Directory for broader availability. The documentation says those servers come in two kinds. Local ones run on a user's device, and remote ones are hosted on the internet for web services and cloud applications. Every MCP tool must declare readOnlyHint and destructiveHint, so Claude and users can tell what actions are possible.

The same documentation sets the security terms for anyone who installs a connector. You authenticate each connector individually, its permissions mirror your access on the external service, and you can disconnect at any time. So a Notion connector works with the pages your Notion account can already reach.

How does paying for a third-party agent through Anthropic work?

According to Kucoin, enterprises that already have spending commitments with Anthropic can redirect those funds toward third-party tools without a new procurement cycle, and Anthropic handles invoicing and payment processing. It works like a corporate account at a department store: the budget is already approved, and a new brand on the shelf goes on the same monthly bill.

AI Catchup describes how this works on the page. The marketplace page offers a "Request to buy" option and tells enterprises with an existing commitment to contact their Anthropic account team to start using it for marketplace purchases. Kucoin also describes a division of labor: vendors such as CrowdStrike handle domain-specific capabilities, and Claude provides the conversational AI layer that ties everything together.

The announcement says little about the seller side. It does not say how listings are vetted or whether sellers pay any fees, and according to AI Catchup the public page publishes no universal eligibility rule or per-partner price. In our view, one catalog stretching from a Slack connector to Deloitte's services is a very wide shelf for a single storefront, and the commitment-based buying Kucoin describes appears built for companies that already have an Anthropic account team.

Fees and vetting for new listings

The announcement gives no fee structure, review process or timeline for new listings, so builders will have to rely on the Claude blog post for the rules. Two things to watch next: the first listings that arrive through the open invitation, and whether the shelf grows beyond the eleven partners Kucoin counted after the September expansion.
