Silicon Valley is souring on Anthropic, per the WSJ

The Wall Street Journal reports that startup founders, software executives, and AI researchers have started switching to cheaper models after Anthropic began shipping tools that compete with other developers' products. Its push toward a closed AI ecosystem is drawing complaints too.
One flashpoint was April's Claude Design release, which parts of the market read as a direct competitor to Figma, an Anthropic partner. At an event shortly after the launch, attendees say Figma CEO Dylan Field said Anthropic had not been "consistently forthright in its communications."
Sarah Sachs, who runs AI at Notion, was at the same event. Her take: "the whole industry learned a lot from how that played out."
