Anthropic taps Persona for user verification
The company confirms it's using Persona Identities to verify account owners' identities. This move bolsters the security policy announced in July 2026.
The process requires users to upload government-issued photo IDs. The system automatically checks the documents' legitimacy, status, and matches the data to the account owner. If verification fails due to poor image quality or an expired document, users are prompted to retry.
Anthropic states that data is used solely for identity verification and compliance. If an account gets blocked post-verification, the company provides an appeal form reviewed by the internal Safeguards team.
