Claude gains macOS control via MCP

Developers released the mcp-osascript server, which lets Claude control the macOS interface. The model can move windows, click menu items, read the clipboard, and manage browser tabs.

The tool includes 12 functions with input validation and protection. If Claude tries to click a nonexistent menu item, the server returns a list of available options, allowing the model to self-correct. This sets it apart from other solutions lacking self-correction.

The setup requires macOS 13 and Node.js 18. The tools are tiered into three access levels: basic, automation, and accessibility. If permissions are lacking, the server outputs instructions on how to configure them in system settings.
