Claude Opus 4.8 is released

Anthropic has launched Claude Opus 4.8. The update brings more accurate judgments, realistic self-assessment, and longer autonomous operation. Pricing remains unchanged.

The Fast mode is now available for Opus 4.8. It runs 2.5x faster than standard and costs 3x less. In Claude Code, activate it with /fast; API users are on a waitlist.

Within Claude Code, the model can execute tasks with minimal oversight. It maintains context over long sessions and can autonomously fix bugs across an entire repository.

A dynamic workflows preview allows Claude to create plans, launch hundreds of sub-agents in parallel for complex tasks, and verify results before reporting.
