Claude recovers 41 TB of BTRFS data

An engineer used Claude to restore a 41 TB filesystem thought to be hopelessly corrupted after ten months of dual-OS mounting. Standard BTRFS recovery tools had failed.
In a Claude Code session, the model analyzed the disk structure and found two coexisting transaction histories. The active filesystem was intact but lacked pointers from the superblocks. Claude manually rebuilt damaged metadata, recovered 19 destroyed nodes, and redirected superblocks to the correct transaction history.
The filesystem mounted read-only without errors. Zero bytes were lost. The effort took one evening, including verification of 4 million metadata entries and creation of tools to manually assemble nodes.
