Guide: hand a spare Mac to Claude Code with full control
A new step-by-step guide walks through turning a spare Mac into a machine Claude Code runs on its own, with computer use enabled. You drive it from your phone via the Claude app or from your main Mac over SSH.
The whole point is isolation. The --dangerously-skip-permissions flag is risky on your primary machine, so the agent gets a dedicated computer with a fresh local account, no Apple ID, no personal data. Setup covers passwordless sudo, disabling sleep with pmset, and syncing the clipboard over SSH.
For computer use over SSH, the guide uses a LaunchAgent with a persistent tmux server inside the GUI session, granting Screen Recording and Accessibility permissions to the tmux process by hand. You'll need a Claude Pro or Max plan and tmux installed.
