University of Tennessee sues Anthropic over neural network patents
The University of Tennessee Research Foundation has sued Anthropic for infringing patents on neural network and machine learning technologies inspired by neuroscience, according to Reuters. Per news.az, the complaint was filed in federal court in Delaware on Monday and became public Tuesday.
The foundation claims Anthropic's products use these inventions without permission. It says the patents cover work in AI, machine learning, neuromorphic computing, and neuroscience-inspired computing.
This is separate from the copyright case, where the court approved a $1.5 billion settlement on July 20.
