Users in China continue to bypass Claude access restrictions
According to WIRED, users in China are finding new ways to access Claude despite tighter restrictions from Anthropic. These methods include proxy services and fake identities sold through Telegram.
Over the past year, startups, researchers, and enthusiasts have built a chain of workarounds. Many consider Claude the most capable AI assistant globally and are willing to invest significant effort to gain access.
This follows previous enforcement actions. Anthropic previously accused Alibaba of using thousands of fraudulent accounts to bypass blocks, and the U.S. administration implemented export controls on the Mythos 5 and Fable 5 models.
