Claude Code roadmap reveals major expansion

The newly published Claude Code roadmap shows Anthropic's extensive plans to evolve its AI assistant. The tool is growing beyond a console utility into a full-fledged ecosystem with multi-platform support.

The document outlines a desktop version with computer control, a web interface, and plugins for VS Code, JetBrains, and Slack. Developers will be able to create autonomous agent commands for parallel task-solving and use the advanced Ultraplan scheduling mode.

For deep integration, Anthropic offers an Agent SDK in Python and TypeScript. Code safety will be ensured by isolated sandboxes, and external data connections will go through the MCP protocol. The project is effectively turning into a major competitor to GitHub Copilot.
