Claude Code v2.1.172 update
The new version supports nested subagents up to five levels deep. For Amazon Bedrock, it adds auto-detection of the AWS region from config files, aligning with AWS SDK standards.
Performance optimizations include removing redundant message normalization in long dialogues. The /goal status line no longer redraws the terminal five times per second, cutting CPU usage in idle mode. Browser tools for Claude in Chrome now load in a single batch request.
A fix addresses sessions with 1M token context freezing when credits run out; the system now automatically compresses context to standard limits.
