Anthropic in talks with Trump administration over model block
Anthropic representatives traveled to Washington to resolve a conflict sparked by an export rule. On Friday, the company received a demand to suspend access to the new Fable 5 and Mythos 5 models for all foreign nationals, forcing the developer to completely disable these products for all users.
The authorities cited a national security risk, referencing a potential 'narrow jailbreak.' According to Anthropic, this risk would allow a user to bypass protections and use AI to search for code vulnerabilities. The company called this standard excessive, noting that its application would halt releases for all frontier model developers.
