Claude Code v2.1.196: Organization-wide model defaults
Administrators can now set a default model for their entire organization via the console. The /model command will reflect this as Org default or Role default until a user selects their own preference.
A security vulnerability is patched: claude mcp list/get no longer launches servers from .mcp.json files that a repository approved for itself via a committed .claude/settings.json file. In untrusted workspaces, these servers are now marked as Pending approval.
A streaming watchdog timer is now enabled by default for all providers. It interrupts and retries a request if the stream fails to emit events for 5 minutes. This can be disabled via CLAUDE_ENABLE_STREAM_WATCHDOG=0.
